During development, test systems validate product functions, verify technical assumptions and generate measurement data for design decisions. Unlike purely exploratory laboratory work, the focus is on reproducible procedures, defined limits and systematic evaluation of product behavior.
Typical tests include temperature and climate testing, endurance and burn-in testing, software validation, hardware-in-the-loop testing and limit investigations. Development test benches often become the basis for later series testing, creating a continuous test process from development to production.
