Development, training & service
A successful test system does not begin with design or programming, but with a well thought-out test concept. MCF works with you to develop test strategies that are technically reliable, can be operated economically and are optimally suited to the product, process and level of automation - from the first test idea to the feasible system concept.
In the conception phase, we consider the technical requirements, the devices under test, the production environment, the desired number of units and the economic conditions. This is not about individual measurements, but about the entire testing process.
Test scope
The first question is which properties and functions of the product should be tested. Not every technically possible test makes sense in the production process - what matters is which errors need to be detected and the relationship between the testing effort and the benefit.
Test strategy
A good test concept takes into account that different areas of application place different requirements on the testing process. MCF cleanly separates these requirements and derives a suitable overall concept from them - not an overloaded testing solution, but exactly the functions that are needed in the respective area.

Scalability
Many companies test not just one product, but a larger variety of circuit boards, assemblies or end devices. It can therefore make sense to design test systems in such a way that several product groups are tested with a common basic system.
The goal is a scalable test concept that can be used to test the greatest possible product variance - without setting up a completely new test system for each product.
Measurement technology
Selecting the right measurement technology is a central part of the design. What is important is not only whether a measuring device can measure a value, but also whether it records this value under real test conditions with sufficient accuracy, repeatability and speed.
Automation & utilization
The automation concept decides how efficiently a test system can be used in later operation - not only whether a device under test is handled automatically, but also how the desired number of units is achieved and the utilization of the tester is maximized.
Operator-controlled testing stations for low quantities and high flexibility.
Manual loading, automated testing – an economical middle ground.
Automated handling and contacting for high, consistent throughputs.
It is particularly important whether a tester only tests one product or should cover several product groups. A flexibly designed system makes better use of the investment and is more economical in the long term.
High-volume testing
With high quantities and short cycle times, the test concept must be planned particularly carefully. Multiple testers check multiple devices under test in parallel or sequentially; In certain cases, several stations can share a measuring device if it is only needed for a short time in the test process.
In this way, throughput can be increased without completely equipping each test module with its own measurement technology. The prerequisite is a thorough analysis of the test sequence, measurement times, switching times and bottlenecks.
Contacting
Contacting is often one of the most critical points in the test system. A good concept ensures that the device under test is contacted reliably, reproducibly and gently. A technically good measurement is only possible if the contact is stable, low-resistance and repeatable.
Test software · Tap.X
The testing software is also an essential part of the test concept. It controls test sequences, guides operators through the process, evaluates measurement results and stores test data traceably. MCF uses OpenTAP together with Tap.X for this purpose.
Tap.X already contains numerous standard functions for the operation of modern test systems - not every software module has to be redeveloped for a specific project. Instead, a practical basis is specifically expanded and adapted.
Traceability is particularly crucial in production: test results must be clearly assigned to a product, a serial number, a time and, if necessary, a station, operator or product variant. Tap.X forms the software basis for this.
Operation in a production environment
A test system must not only measure, but also be safe, integrable and operable for many years. We consider both in the conception phase.
Electrical safety, protective measures and integration into existing processes are taken into account right from the start.
test systems are operated for many years - that's why we design them to be maintainable, documented and expandable.
Our approach
MCF looks at test systems holistically - from the test requirements to the mechanical and electrical concept to software, automation and process integration. We analyze together with the customer in the conception phase:
This creates a technical concept as the basis for the offer, implementation and later expansions - a well thought-out test system concept that combines technical requirements, economic efficiency and production reality.
Describe your device under test, testing task and boundary conditions – we will develop the right concept.
